Decent, stable, and affordable housing is crucial for a family's overall health and well-being. Families with decent housing experience fewer health issues and are less likely to require emergency care. Children living in quality and affordable housing are significantly more likely to graduate from high school and college. Families living in affordable homes have double the discretionary income to pay down debt or invest in a savings account.
One in ten Chicagoans are currently living in inadequate housing. Habitat for Humanity Chicago is a nonprofit committed to building a city where every resident lives in a healthy home in a stable community.
You can make a difference, too. By contributing to my goal of $500, you will ensure that more families have the opportunity to thrive. I appreciate any support you can give - big, small, or somewhere in between!
