Homeownership lays the groundwork for a strong and stable future. It helps build community. It helps build wealth. It helps build self-reliance. And it ultimately helps break the cycle of poverty that too many people in our country – especially women – get trapped in as a result of unequal access to jobs, education and opportunity.

From the gender pay gap and its impact on credit profiles, to uneven child care responsibilities that consume time and financial resources, to higher rates of mortgage denials despite superior payment performance, the barriers keeping women from homeownership are massive.

But women are RESILIENT! Despite these systemic hurdles, women are STILL outpacing men in terms of homeownership nationwide. That's what I'm talking about, ladies!! And every year, I build for them. For the families they fiercely lead, the work they tirelessly do, the communities they comprise, and the future they absolutely deserve.

For me it’s not just about building a home – it’s about everything else we’re building with it. Security. Stability. Opportunity. It’s such an honor to be part of an event dedicated to building up other women in all of these ways.
