Habitat Chicago Women Build- In Memory of Missy

Throughout the course of 5 days, over 300 women will come together to fund and begin building the home of Catherine Goins, an independent mother of three, and I'm volunteering to help! Why? There are so many reasons. One, because a hardworking Habitat Chicago family needs a decent place to live.
But also because on the first day of Women Build last year, my mother-in-law passed away unexpectedly. She was an energetic and independent woman, and I know she would be thrilled to be a part of this event. I'm participating as a builder this year to honor her memory and undying spirit.
Also, I'm volunteering because my amazing sister-in-law Liz Avants is a Development Associate at Habitat Chicago and has worked tirelessly the past two years to make Women Build a reality. Her passion for eliminating poverty housing and homelessness is inspiring, and it motivated me to get involved!
You can get involved too and honor the memory of Missy while helping to provide safe, decent, and affordable housing to a Chicago family. Volunteer to help build or donate. Any support is appreciated!
