Homeownership is one of the most important tools to generate wealth, stability, safety and comfort. However, it is extremely difficult for women and in particular, women of color, to achieve the goal of owning a home. The reasons why aren’t as important to me as how I can contribute to closing the gap.
 
So, for the second year, I’m looking forward to spending part of my birthday working with a team of over 600 women at Habitat Chicago's Women Build this October. Together, we will help our fellow women become homeowners with Habitat Chicago, a nonprofit committed to championing healthy neighborhoods by building quality homes, supporting homeownership, and investing in resident priorities.
