I am excited to be participating in Habitat for Humanity's Women Build event and would like to invite you to partner with me in making a difference in the lives of families in need of safe, decent housing.

I've had the privilege of serving with Habitat for Humanity for many years, my first experience had my church group traveling by train to Taos, NM to help set tresses to build an adobe home alongside the homeowner in the desert. I continued my involvement in Habitat with my collegiate chapter, attending and leading trips in the communities of Mobile, AL and Columbus, GA. After graduating college, I spent a life-changing year working as an extended volunteer as Assistant Webmaster for Habitat for Humanity International and living in community with other volunteers in Americus, GA.

This October, I'm grabbing my hammer, strapping on my tool belt, and joining Habitat Chicago's Women Build alongside 600 determined women to knock down barriers to safe, decent housing. Together, we will help our fellow women become homeowners with Habitat Chicago, a nonprofit committed to championing healthy neighborhoods by investing in resident priorities, building quality homes, and supporting homeownership.
