Building More Equitable Futures, One Home at a Time

A home is more than a place to live. It is a foundation for health, stability, financial security, and opportunity. Yet systemic barriers, including the gender pay gap, unequal access to credit, and disproportionate caregiving responsibilities, continue to make homeownership less accessible for women.

At Perkins&Will, we believe design has the power to create more equitable futures, and that belief extends beyond the spaces we design. This October, we are putting that commitment into action by joining Habitat for Humanity Chicago’s Women Build.

Together with hundreds of women across Chicago, we are working to raise $750,000 to help build homes that women can purchase through affordable mortgages. We’ll also trade our design tools for power tools, joining Habitat Chicago on site to help build these homes ourselves.

Help us reach our goal and help create the foundation for a stronger, more stable, and more equitable future.

Every contribution, big or small, brings us one step closer to opening the door to homeownership for more women in Chicago.
