Homeownership changes lives. But for many women, it's still out of reach. From the gender pay gap affecting credit to the challenges of childcare and higher mortgage denial rates (despite good payment histories), these hurdles are significant.

As a woman who achieved homeownership on her own (yes, my mortgage literally reads "an unmarried woman") I know how empowering and stabilizing it can be. I'm proud of that milestone, and I want more women to have the same opportunity to build wealth and security.

That's why this October, I'm joining Habitat Chicago's Women Build. I'll be picking up a hammer and working alongside hundreds of incredible women to build safe, affordable homes for those who've been systemically shut out.

And I'm asking for your support. Every donation (big, small, or somewhere in between) helps create a path to homeownership for a woman who deserves that chance.
