Women continue to face unjust bias when trying to gain access to homeownership across the country. From the gender pay gap and its impact on credit profiles, to uneven childcare responsibilities that consume time and financial resources, to higher rates of mortgage denials despite superior payment performance, the hurdles keeping women from homeownership are high.
This October, I'm grabbing my hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, and hammer, and joining Habitat for Humanity's Chicago's Women Build alongside 550 determined women to knock these barriers down. Crushing the bias starts on the job site, as women can and will build homes.
You can make a difference by helping me reach my fundraising goal so we can change the lives of these women forever. If you're unable to make a donation, please support the Habitat for Humanity mission in your own way, by visiting Habit's Volunteer page: https://www.habitat.org/volunteer/near-you
I appreciate you, and I appreciate any support you can show towards this cause.
