Eight years ago, I was fortunate enough to have the means, support, and confidence to purchase my own home. Moving into my condo and building my home was essentially my "made it" moment and entree into adulting. Everyone deserves this moment. However, many women are unjustly denied access.

From the gender pay gap, to uneven childcare responsibilities that consume time and financial resources, to higher rates of mortgage denials despite superior payment performance, the hurdles keeping women from homeownership are high. 
 
This October 8th, I'm grabbing my hammer, strapping on my tool belt, and joining Habitat Chicago's Women Build alongside my teammates (the badass women of Chicago Commercial Real Estate) and 550 determined women to knock these barriers down. Together, we will help our fellow women become homeowners with Habitat Chicago.
 
You can make a difference by helping contribute to our team goal, so we can change the lives of these women forever and prove that there's nothing a group of committed women can't do.
