Why I Women Build
Homeownership is one of the most important tools a person can use to build a strong and stable future for themselves and their families. My family immigrated to the U.S. two months before I was born. At the time, we lived in a rented home with one grandparent, six aunts/uncles and six cousins, all under one roof. Though I don't remember much from that time, my parents shared with me the pride they felt at purchasing their first home, and I have seen firsthand the economic stability it brought to me and my family.
The Women Build program - for women, by women - is inspiring, and I am excited to participate for the first time this year. As a woman in construction and a mother to a baby girl, I am committed to improving gender equality for the current generation of working women and for future generations to come.
Change happens one person at a time. I appreciate any support you can give - big or small, or something in between.
