It should go without saying: every single person deserves a safe and decent place to live. I first heard about Women Build earlier this summer and was struck by what an amazing event it is because 1) it's construction related 2) the house is in an area of Chicago that could use some TLC and 3) 100% of volunteers for Women Build are female. It really is a great combination of construction, which I'm passionate about professionally, and female empowerment, which I'm passionate about personally (and in the workplace too, let's be real).

You can support me and an amazing family this Women Build as I work with over 300 other Chicago women to come together as a community to fund and begin building a home.
