For the past year, I've been working downtown Chicago as an architectural intern at Holabird & Root. While this may mean that my day to day work is deeply rooted in construction, it is extremely rare that I get to be the one to hold the hammer! And while this may mean that I work on many affordable housing projects, it is extremely rare that I get to share that experience with the deserving families on the other end of them!

At the same time, hearing about my mom's inspiring work for Habitat for Humanity in the Dallas area has had me itching to get back involved with this sensible organization operating on the principals of sweat equity and boosting families out of the rent cycle.

For these reasons, I am super excited to participate in Habitat for Humanity's Women Build event alongside the fearless women of Holabird & Root in order to help another family in need of decent housing achieve homeownership!
