Homeownership is about so much more than having a place to live. It creates stability, opportunity, and a foundation for the future. Working in construction, I get to see firsthand what it takes to build something that lasts — and I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to build that kind of foundation for themselves and their families.
This October, I’m trading my everyday hard hat for a Habitat Chicago Women Build hard hat and joining hundreds of women to help make homeownership possible for more women in our community.
This cause is especially meaningful to me because women continue to face real barriers on the path to homeownership, from the gender pay gap and unequal access to credit to the financial demands of caregiving. Through Women Build, we’re doing something tangible about it: showing up, picking up our tools, and helping build homes alongside the women and families who will call them their own.
I’ve set a fundraising goal to support Habitat Chicago’s work building quality homes, strengthening neighborhoods, and expanding access to homeownership — and I’d love your help reaching it.
Whether you donate $10, $50, or simply share my page, every bit of support helps. And as someone who believes pretty strongly in the power of a good team, I know what can happen when enough people get behind a common goal.
