Homeownership is one of the most dynamic tools a person can use to build a strong and stable future. However, it is a tool that far too many women are unjustly denied access to. From the gender pay gap and its impact on credit profiles, to uneven child care responsibilities, to higher rates of mortgage denials, the gendered barriers keeping women from homeownership are high.

This October, my ESD coworkers and I will be taking part in Women Build 2021 alongside 500 other women who are just as determined to knock these gendered barriers down. Together, we will raise $375,000 to help build Habitat for Humanity homes that will be purchased by women with affordable mortgages. Then, we're hitting the Habitat construction sites in the West Pullman community to help build the homes.

Help us reach our fundraising goal so we can change the lives of these women forever and prove that there's nothing a group of committed women can't do.
