My company, Turner Construction, hosts a Habitat for Humanity Women Build every year. This allows the women in our company to support each other in construction while we support other women trying to achieve the goal of homeownership.
"Homeownership is one of the most dynamic tools a person can use to build a strong and stable future. However, it is a tool that far too many women are unjustly denied access. From the gender pay gap and its impact on credit profiles, to uneven child care responsibilities that consume time and financial resources, to higher rates of mortgage denials despite superior payment performance, the hurdles keeping women from homeownership are high."
This October, I'm grabbing my hammer, strapping on my tool belt, and joining Habitat Chicago's Women Build alongside 500 determined women to knock these barriers down. It will be my first year participating (due to Covid impacts last year) so please help me out with whatever you may be able to donate...anything from your favorite female leader quote to (of course) a monetary donation if you are able. No amount is too small, as they always say!
Please visit my personal page https://my.habitatchicago.org/WomenBuild2021/CaitlinMonahan. I think you should be able to forward this email with my link if you want to spread the love even further! Let me know if you have any trouble with the link.
You can make a difference. Help me reach/surpass my fundraising goal (team goal is $7,000) so we can change the lives of these women forever and prove that there's nothing a group of committed women can't do.
I appreciate any support you can give as I continue to explore my female role in the construction industry.
