The life-changing benefits of affordable homeownership are immense: it improves school performance, decreases crime, improves financial outcomes, and enhances the health and well-being of children and adults – just to name a few. But for one in five Chicagoans, this is far from their reality as they are severely rent-burdened, spending more than 50% of their income on housing and are forced to make trade-offs.
Team Oommen wants to do something about it. For the month of March, we will be joining Move-In for Habitat Chicago to be part of the solution. We are dedicating our movement to help provide for those in need of safe and healthy housing. Along with other Habitat Chicago supporters, we will raise $20,000 to help complete the finishing touches on Habitat for Humanity homes!
