Homeownership is one of the most impactful tools a person can gain to build a strong and stable future. The life-changing benefits of affordable housing impact a wide array of social factors: they increase financial security, improve educational opportunities, add to the health and social well-being of both children and adults, and decrease crime. All of which works together to help families achieve the strength, stability, and self-reliance they need to build better futures.
This March, I am joining Habitat for Humanity Chicago, a nonprofit focusing on creating safe and affordable housing, in being part of the solution. I'll do this by dedicating my movement to help provide for those in need of safe, healthy, and affordable housing. Each minute I decide to dedicate my time will help us in becoming one step closer to building a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
